
Quarter fold a 4½ x 6 card stock for base. Draw a swerve to indicate where to cut.
Four layers comprise each eye. I chose a thin dark outer rim to really make the eyes pop. And used slits for pupils for which small black circles work just as well.
I free-hand cut the shape for the beak.
Chose interesting shapes to go behind the eyes. I had a leaf punch which look enough like features.
Glue down.
For graduation cards and table decorations, I added a black diamond and tassel above the eyes to look like a mortar board.
