LAP DESK

Materials -
  • Fabric (we used cotton)

  • Fiberfill

  • Hot Glue Gun

  • Sandpaper (optional)

  • Scissors

  • Two wood boards (1/2"x17"x14" and 1/4"x15"x12")

  • Wood Finish (optional)

  • Wood Glue

Instructions:
  1. Trace the small piece of wood onto the back side of the larger, finished piece.

  2. Using the hot glue gun, glue the fiberfill onto the smaller piece of wood, so it’s mostly secure.

  3. Use the fabric to cover the fiberfill side of the smaller piece of wood, and wrap it tightly.

  4. Place wood glue on the previously traced area of the backside of the finished piece of wood.

  5. Attach the wood side of the cushion to the finished wood.

With limited space in dorm rooms, sometimes desks can feel cumbersome, and students often prefer to do their homework in bed. This project can offer the best of both worlds by offering a stable surface to work on while still remaining in the comfort of your own bed!
